New Series Starts August 18 FOXTEL/AUSTAR AURORA Channel 183
The River to Reef team have been hard at work giving the show a facelift with some major changes taking place that will stand the show apart from all the other fishing shows on TV and hopefully broaden the appeal even further says show producer Phill Harris.

Robby & Theo Cooking the Catch
For a long time we have taken great pride in the fact that River to Reef has a strong family following with mum, dad and the kids all enjoying where we go and what we do. An interesting fact is that a lot of our viewers are not necessarily into fishing but enjoy other aspects of the show, like some of the beautiful locations that we visit, the boating, the marine safety tips and of course our fantastic presenters Theo and Robby who are passionate about making sure that the fun and enjoyment that they have while making the show, comes across on screen.
This new series will not disappoint, there are some stunning places and some great but simple cooking in a new segment fittingly called “Cooking the Catch”. We thought that as every other fishing show on the telly are busy pulling in one fish after another we would take it upon ourselves to show some simple easy but tasty ways to cook what you have caught, so please check us out and we would love to hear your feedback.
Tassal & Suzuki – Tasmanian Salmon Farming
Farming is a hard industry on dry land but imagine the challenges you face when your farm is out at sea.
Since commencing operations in 1986, Tassal has been Australia’s largest aquaculture company, producing premium quality Tasmanian Atlantic salmon. Tassal established its first sea farm in Dover, south of Tasmania, and a hatchery was developed at Wayatinah in Tasmania’s central highlands. The remarkable history of salmon farming in Australia began with Tassal and its pioneering drive to develop innovative salmon products for consumers worldwide.

Over the past twenty years, Tassal’s operations have expanded to numerous Tasmanian locations with Hatcheries at Russell Falls and Springfield, and a new state of the art hatchery to be opened in 2009 in Ranelagh. The company’s Marine farm sites can be found in the pristine waters of Dover, Great Taylor’s Bay, Huon River, Bruny Island, North West Bay, Tasman and Macquarie Harbour.
The company continues to lead the industry in developing new techniques in both fish husbandry and farm technology, and proudly employs more than 600 people.
Every employee at Tassal strives to reduce the variation in all work processes to ensure that our products shall continually meet food safety and quality customer expectations in a reliable, productive, safe and in an environmentally sensitive manner. As such, Tassal’s suite of quality and safety endorsements remains unrivalled amongst its Tasmanian salmon competitor base.
Maintaining these quality accreditations means Tassal are constantly searching for the best tools so that they can improve processes while creating minimal impact on the environment.
For the last 3 years Tassal has been using Suzuki outboards, and now has a fleet of 14 amongst the various marine sites.
“Our relationship with Suzuki has been mutually rewarding”, said David Kiemele, General Manager of Farming, Tassal. “We are happy with the motor performance, and the fuel efficiency has meant a real cost saving for the company”.
“We have certainly enjoyed both Suzuki’s performance and the service they have provided, and look forward to doing business with Suzuki in the future”, said David.
Tassal produce some of the best quality Salmon in the world, if not the world’s best. So there is a natural fit between the world’s best Salmon and the World’s best 4-stroke.

Suzuki Marine 100HP 4-Stroke
SUZUKI MARINE UNVEILS NEW 100-HP 4-STROKE OUTBOARD THAT’S IN A CLASS BY ITSELF…
Suzuki’s new DF100 is built around a 118.9 cu. in. inline 4-cylinder Dual Overhead Cam (DOHC) powerhead with fourvalves-per-cylinder for plenty of muscle. Advanced technology like digital multi-point electronic fuel injection, a tuned and water-cooled intake system and a watercooledfuel rail optimize power and performance under the full range of operating conditions. Together with Suzuki’s race-proven 4-into-2-into-1 exhaust system, these features add up to 100 ponies that really want to run — whether you’re powering out of the hole, cruising in the mid-range or tearing across the water at wide-open-throttle.

The New Suzuki 4-Stroke Outboard - DF100
“Having the only 100-horsepower outboard — and a clean, efficient and reliable 4-stroke at that — should give us a competitive edge in the North American boating market,” said Larry Vandiver, Marketing Director for Suzuki Marine. “It will also give boat builders and boaters more choice when it comes to putting together the ideal package for fresh and saltwater applications. Now that we’ve got an all 4-stroke line from 2.5 to 300 horsepower, we’re engineering ways to better meet the needs of the marine industry and its customers,” Vandiver added.
Suzuki’s proven offset driveshaft moves the DF100’s center of gravity forward, for an overall compact
design and better balance on the transom. Available in 20- and 25-inch shaft versions, this combination of size, balance and smooth power makes the new DF100 ideal for a wide range of boats — from small center consoles, bay boats and flats rigs in saltwater to freshwater pontoons, runabouts or aluminum fish ‘n ski models.
Suzuki’s powerful 2.59 final drive ratio delivers quick hole shots — great for popping a “flats” boat on top of skinny water or pulling a skier. And thanks to Suzuki’s wealth of high-performance features, the DF100 also delivers great top end performance, and the fuel efficiency to expand your cruising and fishing horizons.
The new DF100 — along with new 70-, 80-, and 90-horsepower 4-stroke models for 2009 — will be officially launched to the North American boating writers and editors at the Ocean Reef Club on Key Largo this May.
